The closer we came to finishing our product and achieving our goal, we begin to experience challenges, barriers and resistance. The uninvited Murphy’s Committee had come to visit!
In February, I had the blessed fortune to spend 3 days with Jerry “DRhino” Clark at his lakeside vacation home in Texas. I was part of a small, yet powerful group of successful, forward moving entrepreneurs. Jerry shared with us the story of Murphy’s Committee. Thank you Jerry!
Perhaps you know the story of Murphy’s Committee, if not allow me to share.
When we make the decision to leave the mediocre pasture and status quo, when we begin to charge through the Jungle of Infinite Possibilities, towards our goals and aspirations, the closer we get to our goal line, waits Murphy and his committee of chaos. Suddenly anything that can go wrong, will. Computers will freeze, health challenges will show up, family members leave your side. Whatever is available, Murphy and his band of troublemakers will seize the moment and throw it at us, full force.
Once Maria and I figured out that Murphy and his band of merry makers had slipped through the door and taken up residence, we were able to stop the chaos. We understand that out of chaos comes creation, but we also learned the valuable lesson of Murphy.
How often do we get soooo close to achieving our goals and dreams, Murphy’s committee shows up and we allow them to steal our dream?
